DigitizingIf we zoom in on the voice wave, we can select a small slice of speech. Then we measure the average amplitude of the wave during this tiny unit of time. We then assign a number to the height of the wave at that instant. The number we assign is an average. It won't be exact, because the wave is changing constantly, no matter how small a unit of time we pick. But it's going to be close enough. The difference between the actual wave and the number that we assign is the sampling error.
