Nice gestures

Gesture interfaces are continuing to evolve in interesting ways, particularly on the cell phone side. One of the most promising trends is de facto standards for gesture significance among different products–could we formalize this a bit, with strong accessibility input? There is also the ongoing tension between having a device where the screen is large enough to support interface innovations but small enough to stay portable. Could we have bigger phones if we promise to have deeper pockets?
