The Sugar operating system was designed for use with the XO computer (also known as the $200 “One Laptop Per Child” computer). Rumor has it that Sugar may eventually be available for installation on any computer. Given its simple interface that relies heavily on large icons, we can see this being useful for our clients who ask for an “easier” computer, either because of cognitive disability or just reluctance to deal with a long learning curve. For people who want to switch between operating systems, Sugar on a Stick is already available for use via flash drive.
