Magnification a la cart

There’s a new advantage to going grocery shopping in Geneva, besides easy access to all that delectable Swiss chocolate. A co-op there has acquired a fleet of shopping carts with built-in magnifiers, making it less stressful to read the teensy nutritional information on food labels. We like the SlipperyBrick blogger’s suggestion that the magnifiers be detachable, but for a different reason: it would probably be easier for many people with dexterity disabilities to hold the magnifier up to the can, rather than holding the can steady under the magnifier.
