You better shop around

Fujitsu is pioneering a wireless technology that works within a store environment. Request information about a product, and Spotcast will send a description, as well as coupons or URLs, to your cell phone. Imagine how useful this could be to people who’d have difficulty reading labels or picking up and examining products–and supposedly it could be used in non-shopping environments as well. It does require phones with 1-Seg digital TV tuners, which are widely available in Japan but haven’t crossed the Pacific yet.
