Key concept

Note to our mainstream colleagues, whose blogs we’re constantly indebted to for ideas: One of the easiest ways you can get our attention is to label a product “totally useless.” For example, there’s a concept keyboard that has keys etched into a glass pane and uses motion capture to determine your keystrokes. Non-tactile keyboards have been around as assistive technology for years, but they’re often either bulky and odd-looking or exceptionally expensive, and may still have too high a level of physical capability requirements for many users. If someone could merely swipe a finger over a key and have a camera do the rest…well, neighborinos, we think that’s pretty dang-diddley-useful.
